I know the last two weeks have been filled with a lot of chatter about printables and the Toolbox. But there have been some other exciting behind-the-scenes developments going on too…namely, I’ve finally made some REAL progress on our house! Most of you know that pulling together this home has been a real challenge for me. And although I have finished some spaces that I truly love (the foyer, the downstairs bathroom, Sam’s room), I’ve also stalled out pretty hard on the kitchen, dining room and family room, as well as my office. However, thanks to a recent flurry of great finds, the rooms have suddenly snapped together and I’m about 4ish small projects away from having the downstairs mostly complete. As I was looking around the house the other day, I couldn’t help but notice how many of these “quintessential” items, both old and new, have come from Target. And while I’m 99.9% sure none of us need anymore excuses to shop there, I thought I’d show you the Target Home items I can’t seem to stop buying…you know, in case you need an excuse for a Target run!Not that you need another reasons to run to Target, but here are 9 awesome Target Home Items you'll want in your house!

Outdoor RugsNot that you need another reasons to run to Target, but here are 9 awesome Target Home Items you'll want in your house!

A few years ago, I started using outdoor rugs in our bathrooms. Not only do I find their patterns a bit more exciting than traditional bath mats, but I’ve found the sizes, durability, and very-low pile of the outdoor material really make them ideal for bathrooms. The Threshold brand outdoor rugs are soft (not plastic-y), measure 30X50″ (which has always been a perfect fit in our bathrooms); and coming in at $20, you really can’t beat the price for something you can hose down if necessary! I stalk their new patterns every season and am never disappointed. I currently have a navy blue and white striped one in our downstairs bathroom (I can’t find it online anymore), and this one in the boys’ bathroom. I have to admit, that navy Buffalo check totally stole my heart and I bought a second one for a different room (more on that soon!). I’m also crushing pretty hard on this one and this one, but I’ve run out of room for rugs!

When I need some unique and inexpensive fabric for a project, I have been known to wander the curtain, bedding and shower curtain aisles at Target to see what I can find. Not only are their patterns usually really fun, fresh and stylish, but I’ve found many of them coordinate (even across seasons and categories) allowing you to mix-and-match various items around the home with ease. Here’s the kicker though – I rarely use the product as intended, and usually buy them for the quantity of fabric at a super reasonable price point. Think about it: a standard curtain panel usually measures 54×84″ (which could yield about 4 throw pillow covers!). A curtain usually costs less than $20/panel, working out to about $7/yard for good quality fabric that can be turned into ANYTHING! Not sure what to make with a random curtain, table runner or shower curtain? Oh – I’ve cut such items apart to make all sorts of things such as faux roman shades, cloth napkins, and throw pillows…and I have two more awesome projects coming down the pike for you!

Peel-and-Stick Wallpaper

Not that you need another reasons to run to Target, but here are 9 awesome Target Home Items you'll want in your house!

I’ve worked with a lot of different brand’s peel-and-stick wallpaper; and honestly, the Target brand is quickly becoming my favorite. Yes, it is a little lighter-weight than some of the heavier-duty brands (such as Spoonflower or Walls Need Love); but in our houses at least, I’ve found Target’s brand sticks and looks the best, and is the easiest to work with. The other thing I love about Target’s wallpaper: you can often get it on sale or on clearance. Every now and then, the Devine-brand wallpaper will be priced “buy one get one 50% off” on Target’s website; and I have been known to score rolls on serious clearance on end caps. In fact, I found the both the red-and-white striped paper and blue-and-white striped paper marked down to less than $13/roll; and I JUST found 2 rolls black-and-white striped paper for $10/roll! I always snag it when I see it on clearance, because even a single roll is a great way to add a pop of pattern to any space!

Gold Frames

I first bought these simple and sleek gold frames to create a gallery wall around our TV. My original plan was to take the frames all the way to the ceiling, so I stocked up on 12 of them while they were on sale. When I determined 3 rows felt a bit clunky, I just couldn’t bring myself to return the rest because I knew they could work in all sorts of places around our home. I soon found a spot for 3 more in our bathroom; and I know having some extras to create different arrangements in future homes will certainly come in handy. Their beautiful design really lends itself to a variety of styles, and the large mats really showcase artwork and photographs beautifully. If you’re looking for a non-white or black neutral frame, this one is a winner!

Baskets

I am sure you guys are sick of me professing my love for the Target Y-Weave baskets, but you guys…I just can’t get enough of them. I love that they come in a variety of sizes, so I can use them throughout the entire house. And while they do come in lots of different colors (that usually change with the seasons), I’ve started swapping out all of mine for white ones so I can rotate them around houses as needed. These also get marked down pretty frequently, so I tend to wait for sales to stock up for big projects.

Even beyond the Y-weave baskets, Target tends to be my first stop for any kind of baskets. I find that many of the non-seasonal lines they carry tend to be neutral-enough for any space and any style; and again, their mid-range pricepoint makes buying many for large shelves easier to digest.

The navy doesn’t seem to be available anymore, but these are similar!

Soap Dispensers & Trash Cans

Not that you need another reasons to run to Target, but here are 9 awesome Target Home Items you'll want in your house!

I know this is a funny one to include, but I keep buying these and loving them so I wanted to mention them. I shared a while ago that I stopped buying trashcans and soap dispensers to “match” our bathroom decor…namely because we often need to mix-and-match items as we move from house to house, so having all the same simple, white trash cans and soap dispensers means they will work with any decor in any home. I love the sturdiness of these soap dispensers; and now beyond our bathrooms, I also have one filled with hand sanitizer near the baby’s changing table, and another one filled with dish soap at the kitchen sink. They’ve become a simple, stylish and consistent element throughout our home that I find myself appreciating over and over.

Striped Bath Towels

Not that you need another reasons to run to Target, but here are 9 awesome Target Home Items you'll want in your house!

Years ago, I bought these large, soft white bath towels with a navy blue accent on one side. While they were somewhat of a “these will do” purchase; in the years since, I’ve grown to love and appreciate their simple and classic design. I’ve always loved a fresh white towel, but the blue mini stripes provide just enough design without being too limiting across various bathrooms and designs. I’ve long wanted to buy these towels for all our bathrooms (again, I’m learning that having such items consistent makes it easier to mix-and-match in future homes), but didn’t want to make such a huge investment for no reason. IΒ just found these towels marked down to $6 each on our Target endcaps and I couldn’t snatch them up fast enough (it looks like they are on Clearance online too!) All of our bathrooms and our guest towels are now these simple-and-clean beauties, and I was finally able to toss our hodge podge of random colored and patterned towels!

Accessories

I’ve certainly bought my share of home decor accessories from a variety of stores – HomeGoods, IKEA, Hobby Lobby, etc. But as I look around my home these days, the ones I seem to put out over and over are all from Target. I’m not sure if their simplicity and neutrality tend to work in a variety of rooms, or if my design style is just so in sync with Target. Either way, the HomeGoods and IKEA finds tend to end up at yard sales, and the Target items always seem to make the “Keep” cut when I’m decluttering. I do try VERY hard not to stock up on a ton of tchotchkes, but Target’s cutting boards, decorative trays, and statement vases seem to always catch my eye!

Lamps

Not that you need another reasons to run to Target, but here are 9 awesome Target Home Items you'll want in your house!

Last but not least, Target tends to be my usual go-to source for cute-yet-inexpensive lamps. I love their mix-and-match shade+base options; and their task lamps tend to be great design accents for a variety of spaces including kid and playrooms. I’ve recently learned that a great lamp can really complete a room; and I love that I can find something stylish, fun and a bit whimsical all in the $20-40 range.

So what is about Target’s home products I love so much? I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you how cute and stylish their products are, but here is the main reason I find myself gravitating toward Target items over and over again: their stuff is super cute and stylish but most importantly, it’s the right price point for our lifestyle. We move a lot; and each house brings its own unique features, challenges and aesthetic. I want our stuff to look great and last, but I also don’t want to pay a fortune for it since there is no guarantee we’ll be able to use in the next home. Target’s home products seem to bridge style, durability, accessibility, and affordability for me; and thankfully, their stuff just seems to keep getting better and better! I’d love to hear if you have particular Target items you loooooove and find yourself buying over and over. I’m always looking for a good reason to run to Target πŸ˜‰

I hope your week is off to a great start! This week is Spring Break for my kiddos, but I still plan to be back here on Friday with what I’ve been doing lately to make our days run a little smoother!

P.S. This post is in no way sponsored by Target – they don’t even know who I am! I just wanted to share the items I love to use to make each home look and function great!

See You Soon!
