Ready-to-Use Household Labels | Printable & Cut Files
I refreshed this popular labeling set, making it even quicker and easier to label all the essential (but random) items across your household! This collection of 45 household labels is perfect for your linen closet, laundry room, mudroom, bathroom, storage closet, or anywhere else you store household staples. Featuring an intuitive icon+text design, your whole family will love being able to find anything they need, whenever they need it…at a glance!

Why You Need Household Labels
Even if you spend just a minute here on my blog, it becomes pretty clear that I put (almost) anything inside a basket.
Why?
I discovered ages ago that organizing loose items inside closets, shelves, and cabinets is SO much easier when they are loaded into baskets. Not only do baskets hide messy piles and minimize visual chaos, but they corral like items together, ultimately making it easier to find what you need AND put it back when you’re done.

But there can be one major downside to storing items in bins or baskets: it’s tricky to see what’s inside!
Regardless of whether you choose clear tubs or 100% opaque ones, it is usually difficult to tell exactly what is where…at least at a glance.
This is where labels come in handy! By adding a simple label to the bin, basket, drawer, or tub, you can create the calm, tidy shelves you’re craving AND still find everything with ease.
The Household Labels | Printable & SVG Set
In the age of The Home Edit, Marie Kondo, and The Container Store, many of us are craving gorgeous labels for our storage solutions but lack the time and skill to bring them to life. Which is where my fully updated set of printable Household Labels can help!
Re-designed to include 45 common household categories and expanded into 13 different color options, it’s now easier than every to (finally) get that storage closet organized and labeled to perfection!
What’s Included
The Household Labels | Printable & SVG set includes:
- 45 icon+text labels for common household products (e.g., laundry supplies, cleaning products, paper products, lightbulbs, batteries, food containers, kids items, etc).
- All 45 labels are available in 12 colors plus black
- Labels are provided in PDF and SVG formats
- A Canva Template is provided (with instructions) in order to make additional custom labels, as needed
AVERY Compatibility
The PDF files are compatible with AVERY 2.5″ labels for quick and easy printing.
- AVERY 94104 (Squares) – available in matte white, glossy white, kraft, clear, and waterproof*
- AVERY 94502 (Circles) – available in matte white, glossy white, kraft, clear, and waterproof*
The AVERY Avery Durable Waterproof Oil-Resistant Films are my go-to labeling paper. Available in a wide variety of label sizes, this paper is tear-proof and creates gorgeous, vibrant waterproof labels (especially ideal for humid environments or on products that may be exposed to water such as cleaners, spray bottles, detergents, etc). Just be aware that these papers are for use in laser printers only.
How to Use the Printable Household Labels
I love to spend (lots and lots) of time making beautiful labels, but I realize that’s not the case for most people. As such, I work hard to ensure my labeling templates are as quick, easy, and intuitive as possible and give you the exact look you want, with little effort!
After purchasing the label set and downloading the files to your device, here are three (really easy) ways to use these printable household labels in your own home!
Print & Stick
The full page PDF version of the Household Labels is compatible with AVERY 2.5″ labels (both circles and squares). If you are using bins that have a hard, solid surface (e.g., plastic tubs, acrylic boxes, etc), all you have to do is load the AVERY labels into your printer, print, peel, and stick right on!
Even if you’re not using a solid-surfaced container, you can also attach the stickers to flat label holders or wooden/cardboard tags instead.
Below, the labels were printed onto clear sticker paper and adhered to cardboard tags that I fasten to baskets with brass paper fasteners.
Fun Fact! Better Homes & Gardens liked these sticker labels so much, they were featured in the 2020 special issue, Secrets of Getting Organized!
Print & Insert
Instead of printing onto sticker paper, you can also print the labels onto cardstock. Cut the labels down into any size or shape you need (with a scissors, paper trimmer, punch, die cutter), and slide them inside an existing label holders.
Cut from Vinyl
Finally, if you have an electronic-cutting machine (i.e., Cricut, Silhouette), you can use the included SVG files to cut the labels out of vinyl or with the print then cut feature.
This is obviously a bigger labeling project (some of the label designs have lots of little details), but this option allows you to make the labels in any size, in any color, for any size bin!
More Labeling Templates
I love making labels, and I want it to be quick and easy for you too! Below are some other ready-to-print templates you can use throughout your home!

Within minutes, you can have your entire space labeled to perfection! Happy organizing!

Megan,
Thank you so much for putting this together for all of us! I have my chipboard all prepared, ready for my labels. Have you had anyone ask about using the project on the Silouhette? I am having trouble getting cut lines on the images.
Thanks again!
Hi Whitney,
Thanks for writing – no, no one has written me having any trouble. I am so sorry to hear it’s not working quite right for you.
Are you using the SVGs or the PNGs? Maybe try importing the PNGs if the SVGs are giving you trouble? Those files are also in the Toolbox.
Hope that helps, keep me posted!
Megan
Sadly the cut-files for the household labels doesn’t seem to exist. The links in the Toolbox just go back to the toolbox page
Hi Jenny,
Thank you so much for letting me know. I will get those fixed right away and let you know when the files can be downloaded again.
Sorry about that!
Megan
really lame that this still comes up as “FREE” ALL over Pinterest when now you have to buy an expensive subscription to get this download…
Hi Brooke!
Thanks for writing and I am sorry for your frustration. Unfortunately, I am not able to edit/change/delete Pins that were created years ago and have been widely circulating since; but I do understand the confusion they create.
My business model has evolved since these files were originally created. I’ve worked hard to develop a model that provides my vast collection of organizational resources at an easy and fair price point. I understand you and others may not want to pay for my files, so I encourage you to check Pinterest or Etsy for different/cheaper versions.
Thanks!Megan
