Super Easy Personalized Gift Idea for Anyone On Your List!
Whenever our family is given a really good, clever or unique gift that is also super simple and budget-friendly, I always tuck the idea away to use in future years. After all, even if we have the best intentions for finding “just the right gift” for everyone on our list, it’s inevitable that we’ll need some quick and affordable last-minute items to give to neighbors, teachers, coaches, etc. Today I want to share this really easy personalized gift idea you can use for almost anyone on your list. By pairing a tasty off-the-shelf item with a clever wrapping job, it’s the perfect way to say “Merry Christmas” without the stress and the mess!
A few years ago, a friend gave us one of Trader Joe’s sampler box of Joe Joe cookies (their version of Oreo cookies) for Christmas. Have you ever had these? Oh my gosh, they are so so so good. The sampler includes four stacks of different flavored “chocolate dipped” Oreo-like cookies, including peppermint (my fav!), gingerbread, double chocolate and peanut butter. These cookies are not your average off-the-shelf packaged cookies and feel like a super special treat, perfect for the holidays! We really enjoyed eating our way through each stack…so the following year, I followed my friend’s lead and grabbed a bunch of these cookie boxes to gift to all of our neighbors. But then I chose to dress them up with some personalized packaging that really made all the difference!
I found these plain ornament-shaped tags at Michaels (below left), and then used my Cricut Explore with some glitter vinyl to make gorgeous personalized tags for all of our neighbors. It was a small detail that only took a few extra minutes, but really made these simple, off-the-shelf gifts feel so festive and special.
I simple wrapped the boxes of cookies and secured each tag to the top with ribbon! Once the cookies were open, the tag could then be hung on the tree or re-purposed for something else!
In addition to personalizing the boxes, it doesn’t hurt to have a few generic “Merry Christmas,” “Happy Holidays,” or “Happy New Year” tags ready to go so you can pull extra, last-minute gifts together as needed!
Whether you like to package up homemade treats or prefer to hunt down unique and special sweets to use as gifts, adding personalized tags like these is not only quick and budget-friendly, but also a really easy way to make a simple gift a little more festive and thoughtful!
Here are some similar tags that you can use in the same way!
I hope you all have been enjoying the quick, easy and short (!!!!) holiday projects I’ve been sharing this week. I’ll be honest, my holiday season is shaping up to be a busy one (and I am sure yours’ is too!), so over the next few weeks I’m going to be sharing similar small, easy, and affordable ideas that I hope you can use this season too. We’ll get back to the meatier organization- and decor-related posts after the New Year! Have a great weekend and see you back here next week!

What a great idea! I was just in Trader Joe’s a couple days ago and was flabbergasted at how many awesome holiday desserts and other products they had. I usually make my own treats for neighbors, but I didn’t last year, and I think I’ll continue the trend. It started making me grouchy at spending so much time for everyone else, and I wasn’t enjoying as much time with my children. So thanks for the reminder to simplify!
So funny – I always give these as Christmas gifts too! My parents have everything, so I get them these cookies, and my Dad has them gone by the time they leave our house. So I know they love them! This is a cute upgrade though, to customize the package. I need to whip out my Cricut cutting machine and make these cute gift tags. Love them!
Love this idea, thank you! I will be gifting our school administration staff with this beautiful and delicious idea. What font are you using? I often try to find a brush script that I love never to get the right “look”. This is the right look!
What a cute idea!
