One of my biggest goals with The Organization Toolbox is to make it your one-stop-shop for all things printables and organization-related! While similar forms, worksheets and labels can be found elsewhere around the web, it can be sooo time consuming to constantly track down what you’re looking for via Pinterest, especially if you have a certain look, style and function in mind! Over time, I want to have everything you could possibly want or need in the Toolbox (wowza – that’s a big goal, huh?), and such was my thought process going into this month’s kit. While blogs and Pinterest are flooded right now with various “new school year” signs and interview forms, I wanted to create my own set that was not only versatile, comprehensive and oh-so-simple to use, but was also waiting for you in The Toolbox whenever you needed it! Today I want to give you a tour of my latest printable kit: Printable School Year Signs & Interview Pages and share some ideas for using them with your own family!

Whether the children in your home have already started school or are about to, you may be looking for a quick and easy way to document this passage of time. I certainly love all the adorable chalkboards and custom signs available on Etsy and elsewhere, but even that feels a bit too overwhelming for this busy mama to prepare. Instead, a cute sign I can print, hand to my child, and snap a quick photograph with is much more practical and feasible for our busy lifestyle these days!

This may surprise you to hear, but I am not a scrapbooker or a journaler. None of my boys have baby books, and I am horrible at recording milestones. #justbeingreal As Sam grows up (and as we get ready to raise a third), there have been many times I wish I had something documented so I could go back and reference this, that, or the other.

While the First- and Last-Day-of-School interview sheets included in this latest printable kit aren’t baby books, they are such a simple way to routinely document your child’s school milestones, look, writing, interests and more without any fuss or hassle. These pages are simple to print and customize, and are a breeze to fill out thanks to straightforward yet useful prompts. I really wish I had started these with Henry in preschool, but third grade is better than nothing, right?!?

My goal with this Printable School Year Signs & Interview Pages kit was to provide everything you needed to easily capture school year memories from the first day to the last, preschool through senior year of high school! Let me give you a closer look at all the pages now available for download!

Included In This Kit

When I said I wanted to provide everything you needed to quickly and easily capture school-year memories, I really meant it. As such, this kit features four printable pages for each and every year of school: pre-K through 12th grade.

The four pages (per grade) include two printable signs: one for the first day of school and one for the last…

…as well as two coordinating interview sheets, also one for the first day of school and one for the last. This means no more scouring the Internet for a “First Day” kit and a “Last Day’ kit – it’s all here!

The “First Day” and “Last Day” interview sheets are slightly different, but both feature easy prompts to record handwriting, size, school details, and favorites, as well as a dedicated place for a current picture. The “First Day” interview includes questions about hopes and dreams for the coming year, while the “Last Day” sheet has spots for reflections on the past year as well as hopes for the coming summer.

All the interview sheets and signs are in one complete file, making it easy to open and print off whatever pages you need. Additionally, the interview sheets and signs are done in a coordinating style (same fonts, colors, etc), making it foolproof to have a complete, matching set…year after year!

TIP! If you want to be super efficient, print the sign on one side of cardstock and the interview on the backside…then slide the entire sheet into your child’s scrapbook or file box to signify a new school year!

BONUS! Want to be really on your game? Sit down one afternoon and run off every single year so you have it pre-printed and ready to go as each First and Last day roll around!

Finally, all the pages include editable text boxes. Not only does this mean that you can continue to use the same file year after year (just update the year along the bottom of the sign page), but if you’d rather keep an “electronic diary” instead, you can easily do that!

Options!

In addition to being a really efficient and user-friendly kit, I also couldn’t help but provide you with a few options to suit your style and printing preferences! Specifically, this entire kit (all four sheets for all 14 grades) is available in a fully colored kit, as well as a black-and-white only version!

The color version of this kit features script writing, as well as a few pre-colored details (grade, borders).

The four sheets for each grade are done in the same color, and there are 10 different colors featured across the entire kit.

The black-and-white version of this kit has no printed color and features all non-script fonts.

Not only do I really love the clean, simple and bold look of the black-and-white version, but you can easily customize this one for your kids by printing it on whatever color paper they want!

Whether you prefer the simple and clean look of the black-and-white version or the lovely, artistic aesthetic of the colored version, they both include all the same pages, details, and features. Both 56-page kits are exactly the same content…the colors and fonts are the only details that change!
