Happy New Year, my friends! I’ve really missed being here, connecting with you, over the last few weeks; and I hope you and yours had a very wonderful holiday season! Not only am I SO excited to be back into the blogging groove now that January is here…but today is also my very favorite day of the month: new printable day! I’ve got a list a mile long of printable kits I am excited to add to The Organization Toolbox this year. But when I polled current Toolbox members to see what they MOST wanted to see first, printable planner pages was far-and-away the most popular response! Truth be told, I’ve been wanting to create a comprehensive set of planner pages for a while, and I figured there was truly no better way to kick off 2019. Today, I am excited to give you a full tour of the daily, weekly and monthly planning pages now uploaded to The Toolbox and share lots of ideas for using them in your own life!

Last month, I uploaded a series of printable calendars to The Toolbox. I really loved the simple, classic and fresh design of those pages, so it was a no brainer to create a series of matching daily and weekly planning pages to match!

One of my main priorities whenever I release a new printable kit is flexibility. I want my printables to truly be useful to you, so I try as best I can to anticipate your needs and the various ways you may want to use them. As such, I tried to provided an array of planning resources to meet as many of your requirements as possible. There are now the following planning pages uploaded to The Toolbox: Daily | Weekly – Portrait | Weekly – Landscape | Weekly 2 – Page. This is all in addition to the single and double-page calendars already available for download! These editable, changeable. mix-&-match Printable Planner Pages (featuring daily, weekly and monthly options!) provide ultimate flexibility for your planning needs!

All 5 planning options shown above (daily up to monthly) are available in black-and-white, as well as 12 colors shown above. Yep…seriously! So whether you want to create a rainbow planner, print black-and-white onto colored paper, or pick just a few colors you love, the options for creating a planner that works for you AND matches your style and color preferences are truly endless!

Daily Planning Pages

I personally prefer to plan on a weekly layout (more on that in a bit), but I know many of you like to have a daily planner to keep track of every detail of your day. My daily planning pages feature two columns: a 6am-10am log on the left with areas for To-Dos and Notes on the right.

You’ll notice that the upper right-hand space on each and every planner page is blank. That spot is intended for the date. You can either hand-write in the date after you print out the pages or type in the date(s) via the editable text boxes pre-formatted on every page. In addition to the date block, every line, block and box also features an editable text box so you can customize these pages and insert recurring appointments or tasks before you print!

There are lots of great ways to use these daily planner pages, but here are a few quick suggestions:

  • If you’re a weekly or monthly planner like me, keep an undated stack of daily sheets on hand to use whenever you have a particularly busy day you need to plan out in more detail.
  • Run off 365 daily planning pages, back-to-back, to create your own (really thick) planner – kind of like I did here!
  • If you’re working on a very specific, task-oriented project, print out one for each day of your timeline to plan out all your tasks and deadlines.

Weekly Planning Pages

I personally like to plan a week at-a-glance; and because I know the weekly layout is the most practical and usable from a printing standpoint, I’ve created three different layout options: horizontal, vertical, and a 2-page spread.

Many long-time readers and printable lovers will quickly recognize the horizontal weekly planner as an update to one of my most popular printables ever: the weekly planning printables. Truth be told, I’ve used this horizontal calendar layout to plan out my work tasks and our family meals for YEARS…and I am so excited to have this freshened-up version to start using. With nice big blocks to write in and a small-but-focused To Do list in the bottom right-hand corner, this single sheet is seriously how I keep track of most things in our household!

NOTE: The checklist on each weekly layout is currently labeled “Priorities,”, but that text box is fully editable so you can change that checklist title to anything you want!

I LOVE the horizontal layout, but I recognize that a vertical layout is more practical for binding and seamlessly transitioning with some of the other planning pages (like the 2-page monthly spread). As such, this incredibly popular weekly planner is also available in a portrait format.

Last, but certainly not least, I know many people prefer a little more room to write and plan out their week than a single page but don’t necessarily need an entire page for every single day. The 2-page weekly spread is the perfect compromise!

Featuring a Monday start (which I know is a big deal to a lot of you!!!), larger columns for the 5 weekdays, and bigger sections for weekly priorities and notes…this clean and simple weekly spread is great for writing down each and every detail of your week!

Here are some creative ways to use these pages no matter which weekly layout you like best!

  • Print out 52 copies, back-to-back, to create a planner for the whole year
  • Print out one in your favorite color and laminate it. Tape it to your refrigerator or family bulletin board and update it weekly.
  • This is how I use them –> Print out a stack of undated weekly pages and keep them tucked into a handy folder. At the start of each week, pull a fresh calendar out, date it, and populate it with that week’s appointments, reminders, meals and more! Review it as a family to get everybody on the same page for the week ahead before taping it to the refrigerator for all to see!

With daily, weekly, and monthly options, you are sure to find a combination that works just right for your needs! And what’s even better? You don’t have to commit to one version like you would with a store-bought planner! You can print and try different versions of these planning pages until you find a combination that works or just use one system of pages until you need a change!

Creating Your Own Planner

I have somewhat intentionally stayed away from the “planner business” for lots of different reasons. Not only are there so many wonderful planner designers out there with more options than you can possibly imagine, but the idea of updating dates and layouts every year kind of overwhelms me. However, I know many of you use The Organization Toolbox as your “one stop shop” for organizing printables, so I specifically designed my planning pages in a way that, should you want to (and have the patience for it!), you can create and print your own planner. And since all the planning pages are completely un-dated yet fully editable, the same files can be used week after week, year after year, simply by swapping out the dates.

Since I use the weekly planning pages for all my business work, I went ahead and assembled a 2019 planner for myself. Having the weekly spreads all printed, dated, and ready-to-go means I don’t have to print out one each week (which embarrassingly, is what I’ve been doing) and it allows me to plan out a little further. And also, it gave me an excuse to show you exactly how to assemble your own printable planner using my planning pages!

These editable, changeable. mix-&-match Printable Planner Pages (featuring daily, weekly and monthly options!) provide ultimate flexibility for your planning needs!

The first thing you need to do is decide on which pages you want/need in your planner. Take into account if you like to plan by the day or week, and then consider how much detail you tend to track. Finally decide if you need monthly layouts in addition to your daily/weekly pages, and how many pages you are willing to print. All of these considerations will help you decide which different layouts to use.

Next, locate the files you want to use within The Organization Toolbox and download them to your computer. Admittedly, it will be easiest to print out all the pages (in the colors and layouts you want), back-to-back, and date them by hand. However, each page does have editable text boxes, so you can type in the dates and print them out as well. However, it’s important to note that because of how the text boxes are formatted, you will need to fill the dates then print, fill the dates then print, fill the dates then print. It can be a little tedious, but it’s a great way to keep busy on a snowy, wet winter weekend!

With your pages dated and printed (double-sided), next print out some additional accessories I have all ready for you. For your planner cover, chose from the wide variety of patterned covers I’ve already uploaded to the Toolbox. Then print out the new tabs that coordinate with all of the monthly colors…

…as well as the matching month cover pages. If you need help printing and and assembling the tabbed dividers, refer to this post.

Finally, assemble your planner by loading it into a 3 ring binder or binding with a coil machine like the one I use.
