Super Simple DIY Flower Banner (with FREE Printable Download!)
I’m popping in a little early this week to share a fun and easy printable banner project that just might come in handy this weekend for your Mother’s Day celebrations! Even if you’re not celebrating Mom in a big way this year, this DIY flower banner is easily customizable for any occasion, making it the perfect accessory for any Springtime soiree in the coming months! From brunch this weekend to a baby or wedding shower, print out this printable and use the following tutorial to create a fresh, flirty, and festive banner in no time!
This banner was designed to coordinate with a flower cake topper project I have live right now over on Thirty Handmade Days where I am thrilled to be a new contributor! These wooden flowers are made by simply painting and glueing wooden shapes together…and the result is just darling. Be sure to pop over to visit Mique and see the full tutorial! And if you’re a Thirty Handmade Days reader coming over to say hi, welcome!!!! I am so glad you’re here! Please have a look around and leave a comment introducing yourself!
No party is complete without a banner, but they can sometimes be a bit tough to pull together if you don’t have access to a lot of craft supplies! To help you out, I designed this printable banner to be fully customizable for any phrase or occasion! With some creative cuts, extra cardstock, and some sticker letters, you can make a banner just like the one I made here for my niece’s bridal shower in less than an hour!
I make a lot of banners…for parties, nurseries, and other occasions…and this is often my go-to method! While I love using my e-cutter for paper projects, I can often get just as quick and easy results using my paper trimmer and scissors! Ready to see how it comes together?
Here’s what you need to make a flower banner as shown:

- Flower Banner Printable (download below)
- White cardstock or photo paper
- Coordinating colored cardstock (I used pink and blue from Stampin’ Up)
- Paper adhesive
- Ribbon or string
- Tools: Scissors, paper trimmer (optional), ruler, pencil, hole punch
Start by downloading and printing the banner pennant images. I have four size options available, but you can always adjust the size/quantity even further in your print options. Be sure to print out as many flags as you need for your phrase! (TIP! Always wonder how I get such vibrant color on all my printables? I print them onto photo paper to ensure bright, saturated, glossy color!)
(to access the printable, click on the button below. It should open in a new tab!)
With the banner printed, use a paper trimmer and/or scissors to cut out each individual pennant.
With the flags trimmed down, you can easily punch your holes, add your letters and string and be done, but I always like to add a colored cardstock background to my pennants to give them more weight and color. To do this without a lot of measuring, simply secure the flower pennants directly to colored cardstock, leaving a 1/4″ish border around the sides.
To keep this really quick and easy, align the outside edges of the flower pennants with the edge of the cardstock and then trim down the inner edges to make a consistent border around each one.
To finish off the pennants, you need to cut out the bottom triangle. You can eyeball it or use a ruler and pencil to identify the 1/4″ border.
Once the bottom triangle is trimmed away, your pennants are ready to be strung together!
Use a hole punch to add holes to the top corners of each pennant…
…then feed string or ribbon (depending on how big you made your holes) through each pennant. If you made them itty bitty like I did…a needle helps this part go a little easier!
The final step is to add your letters! I cut my “Bride 2 Be” phrase from cardstock using my Cricut Explore…but you can easily use sticker letters here for a true peel, stick and go option!
And in a matter of minutes, your banner is ready for hanging!
I hope this easy printable banner project helps make your Springtime parties a little more festive! I had so much fun designing this floral pattern myself…don’t be surprised if you see some more custom printable designs come down the pike 😉
And with that, I’m signing off for the week as we continue to prepare for our upcoming move. I have some super fun organization content cued up for next week, so be sure to come back and see me on Tuesday!

What a lovely banner and it really gives me ideas and a new opportunity to make something not so used in France !
It would be nice to celebrate my daughters when they come home.

THANK YOU! Short on time and this is exactly what I needed to host a bridal shower with the theme LOVE IS BLOOKING HERE. Thank you for sharing. I’ll enjoy seeing your future features.
Made one for my granddaughter’s 3rd birthday and was pleased at the way it turned out. Would like to share a photo. How do I do this?
