The Family HUB | the Ultimate Home Management Binder System
With so many moving parts in a household, it can be really difficult to keep track of all of life’s details, can’t it?!? From family members’ social security and car license plate numbers, to the house’s paint colors, teachers’ email addresses, and the pet’s grooming schedule, filing this information away while also keeping it handy is indeed a tall order. But don’t worry, I’ve got you! I created The Family HUB | the Ultimate Home Management Binder System to be an effective, simple, and efficient way to organize, sort, and store all of life’s information…so you can always find it, whenever you need it!
Why Assemble a Home Management Binder?
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve (quickly) needed one of my kid’s vaccination dates for a camp registration, or our car’s plate number for an event, or the school’s break schedule so I can plan a vacation, or…you get the idea!
As we go through daily life, there are many times when you need important-but-random pieces of information. Yet all too often, tracking down that information is harder than it should be.
While there are lots (and lots) of ways to organize your family’s information, I’ve found one of best methods is a household binder.
Not only are binders inexpensive and quick to assemble, but they are highly customizable, efficient to use, and easy for the entire family to access.
Creating a physical “database” of the information you access most can…quite simply…save you time, stress, and frustration day in and day out!

It is my sincere hope that this comprehensive collection of printable pages not only motivates you to (finally!) get all your information organized into one spot, but helps you do so quickly and easily. I just know you are going to love the process of putting together your very own home management binder (I mean, who doesn’t love color coded worksheets!!!). But more so, I believe you will truly love and appreciate the time and sanity saved each and every day by having all your family’s important information in one central…dare I say it…HUB!

Megan,
I LOVE the idea of working on it in sections throughout the year!!! I’ve always like the idea of a home HUB binder (if you will) but have always felt a bit overwhelmed at the time involved in setting it up (not to mention price to print, LOL). I think this will be great fun throughout the year.
OH! And I LOVE the colors as well–and that rainbow colored fish scale for the cover is awesome!
Thanks for the super sweet comment, Heather! I am thrilled to hear readers are on board with this approach and are excited as I am!
Happy New Year!Megan
What a great concept! I always wonder where you come up with these great names for your products! 🤔
Yes, yes and YES! I set up a system like this a few years ago, except each colour coded section was a binder in and of itself. It was an unwieldy system and as a result, I never used it. I’ve been wanting to condense it for the last couple of years but have been overwhelmed by going through all those notes and figuring out the best system. This is perfect! I love that it comes in little bits over a year, I’m far more likely to get a little bit done than a whole file at once. Happy New Year!
It looks gorgeous, Megan! <3
Hi Megan, I love this idea of a HUB–something I’ve been intending to do for years. I’ve considered subscribing to the toolbox but have hesitated because I don’t have kids and it was just my husband and me, until April when he suddenly passed away. Now that it’s just me (and 7 horses and 2 dogs!), it seems really important that I have some kind of central location of information that would enable others to keep my household going if something happened to me (even though I’m still young!). I already have binders for my horse and dog care but this would complete the picture. You’ve convinced me–I’m subscribing!
Hi Rebecca!
Thanks so much for sharing, and I am so sorry to hear about your husband. If you do decide to join, please know there are LOTS of different worksheets and forms that do not pertain to children/family life! If you have any specific questions, please let me know!
Thanks,Megan
Megan,
With the anticipation of printing all the current and eventual HUB pages, what size binder should I use?
Thanks,
Hope
Hi Hope!
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, it’s been kind of a nutso week 😉
It’s really hard to say since not every single page will apply to you, and you might even find other things you want to include. I would think a 1.5-2″ binder would be sufficient! You can always size up if you feel like things are getting too tight!
Hope that helps a bit!Megan
I love the binder you used in these photos- Do you have a link to where you purchased it from?
Hi!
This binder in the photos is by Greenroom and I found it on Clearance at Target a while ago. However, they (and Staples) typically have lots of fun binders by this brand each season.
Hope that helps a bit!Megan
Are there any more printable downloads that are free? A sheet printed out with my design space printout and made it seem like they were free.
Hi Megan! I’ve just come across your blog and am poking around your printables resources… this is fantastic! I like to think I’ve mostly got a handle on day-to-day things but more of it lives in my head than is preferable. I’m very visual and instinctually plan on paper, so being able to look at someone else’s templates is really helpful.
I’m someone who only recently entered their 20s, who also deals with mental and physical health issues, with far too many interests/commitments and never enough time or energy (lol). Since my tween years it’s been a long process of teaching myself life skills through Youtube and such, but some things you really only learn from experience.
While this is probably more hard-core than my ‘household-of-one’ needs (and I am more of a bare-bones-bujo person), keeping things organised helps immensely with managing my cognitive load and I’m definitely going to take inspiration from some of these layouts. Thank you, and best wishes to your family as we approach the end of the year! Cheerio 🙂
Hi Cate!
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you here, but I wanted to be sure to thank you for such a great comment.
It sounds like you’ve really identified some great ways to help yourself be successful – bravo to you! And I’m thrilled you find my ideas and resources helpful!
Thanks again for stopping by and have a great week!
Megan
Megan,
Thank you for taking the time to put this amount of information together. I found you through the Get Organized HQ for 2022. Your video connected with me in many ways. Visiting your website, All Access Pass was what I had been looking for to organize my family and household. Being a full-time mom of two kids on the spectrum and working as an accountant in a full-time job, my time is limited to what I can get accomplished daily. Your Collection is more detailed than what I have found to date. Thank you for making my life easier and simplifying the process! This access removed the stress I had been feeling in trying to locate a planner I could use without waste and organizing my household better.
How do I get your pet records printable?
I love this idea!
