Wiremold Cord Cover, suitable for covering wall mount TV cables, home entertainment wires, speaker cables, video cabling and home or office wiring. Organize and hide cords and cables easily, whether it has 4 HDMI cables or single cable wire the channel is big enough to fit in.
SIMPLE AND EASY INSTALLATION:
- Measure the width of the flat screen panel to determine and mark the center location of the Flat Screen TV Cord Cover.
- Using a level, mark a plumb line that extends under the flat screen panel. This line will be used to help align the base of the Flat Screen TV Cord Cover for the horizontal drop
- Measure the length for the drop from the bottom of the flat screen panel and add a minimum of 1" [25mm] for the Flat Screen TV Cord Cover to extend under the pane
- Measure and mark the length of the drop on the Flat Screen TV Cord Cover base and cover. Cut the base and cover using a hacksaw or handsaw
- Place saw cut end of base under flat screen panel and align the center grove in a base with mark on wall. Use level to plumb the base.
- Mark the top two holes, the bottom two holes and two more holes off-set closest to the center of the base.
- Using a Phillips screwdriver, push one of the anchors into the drywall until it reaches the start of the thread. Push and turn anchor into drywall until it is tight and flush to the surface.
- Insert the remaining anchors into marked holes.
- Fasten the base using #8 x 5/8” Phillips head screws (6 provided).
- Lay cables over a base in a flat pattern; do not overlap cables as this will make closing the cover difficult.
- Continue to work downward snapping the cover to the base.
- Installation complete

See my photo. I cut some notches in it with a hacksaw so I could get a couple of wires to the Vizio sound bar (which you can't see because it's behind the sound bar). It cuts nicely with a hacksaw, then you can sand it to smooth it out. I did not paint mine. I may do that later.
One minor quibble is that if you need more than one of these then there can be a visible "break" or "seam" where the two pieces connect.

It can easily be painted to match the color of your wall. Priming is wise but not necessary. You do not need to paint the part that fastens to the wall because the outer cover completely hides it.
About fastening- you do not need to drill ANY holes in your wall. Just buy some 3M Extreme Mounting Tape, which is a VERY heavy-duty, double-sided tape. Run a strip of tape along the back of the wall guide and press it against the wall firmly. It will not fall off, and you are done in seconds.

If I had to do it again, there is a Monster Cable package that -- while more pieces and of varying lengths -- appears to have wire clips built in. I was on my own, and eventually resorted to small pieces of duct or masking tape to hold my cables in place neatly before snapping on the cover ... I'm not sure if you've tried taping winding cables in place, but it's not easy for them to keep still.
Speaking of cover, it goes on with some force, and off with some more force; I would recommend bundling all your cables at once and making sure you're set with what you have as opening and closing this often could possibly be problematic based on the install location.
With that in mind, I wish I would have considered using some 3M-type adhesive/Command strips on this. I think they would more than support the weight, and if I don't have a need to remove the cover often, I could have prevented six fairly large holes on my wall.
That said, the hardware that comes with the package is solid; the drywall anchors are of the screw-in variety and very substantial. Nice pieces.
Now ... painting. You might want to give this a good alcohol rub down first, or maybe some soap and water and let it dry really good before applying the latex color of your choice. The company does recommend two coats in the instructions, but my first coat was so ... ugly ... I was worried I had ruined the product.
From the manufacturing process, there may be some oils or remnants or SOMETHING on this piece to where the paint would just not coat well; I'm a fairly experienced painter on all sorts of mediums, and I was not impressed the way paint took to this cord cover. Second coat I made some adjustments, and by third coat I had reached a level where I was comfortable the Wiremold would blend in, no problem.
In all, I'd make the purchase again, but I'd do a little more prep work in all areas before the install.
Good luck with a great product.
The TV plug was at the opposite end of the TV, from my cables. I added a second set. The wall mount prevented me from sliding the cover down, and the floor stopped me from sliding it up. Cutting was an option. Instead, I placed the plug cord in the holder with screw holes, placed the cover over it, and then pressed the cover into the holder until it snapped in. The same way you snap a lid on a refrigerator bowl. Worked fine. Using a second set for just one plug may seem like overkill, but it really balances the setup, and looks great.
