Get Cozy with GlobeIn!
When we first moved here to Kansas, we were shocked about how hot it was. Of all the things people told us about living here, no one seemed to mention the heat (maybe it’s because they didn’t want to scare us)! It has seemingly been brutally hot since the moment we arrived, but a sweet reader promised me that October would bring clear skies, cooler temps and just all-around great weather…and boy was she right! We have been LOVING the crisp Fall-like weather that has rolled in over the last few weeks. Dinners outside on our newly setup deck are so pleasant (and a nightly occurrence!), and I have been eagerly waiting for the temps to drop enough for us to cozy up to a fire with our neighborhood buddies. When my friends over at GlobeIn asked me to sample and review their latest Artisan Box, themed Cozy, I said yes right away. Not only am I just so ready to celebrate cooler weather, but I was oh-so-desperately looking for a reason to bring out our fire pit, enjoy the crisp air, and, of course, make s’mores!
As many of you regular readers know, I have done several partnerships with GlobeIn over the last few months (see and learn more in my reviews of the Entertain Box and Laundry Box). GlobeIn is a small San Francisco-based startup with a mission of supporting artisans and farmers around the globe. They reach out to women in the far reaches of the earth who are enhancing and improving their lives through craft, and bring their goods, products, and foods right to your door through a monthly Artisan Box subscription. All of the products contained in the boxes are fair-trade, carefully curated, and a true treat to open and use. I get so excited when I come home to find the latest box of goodies on my step! Not only do I love working with such a wonderful company, but I really do love learning about and using these new and sometimes exotic products and sharing them with you all. Whether you are interested in a single box, a regular subscription, or just a few of the goodies a la carte, this month’s box doesn’t disappoint!
The Cozy box is packed with:
- Marquet Fair Trade Scarf from Thailand
- Divine Chocolate Cocoa Powder from Ghana
- Le Souk Ceramique Mug from Tunisia
- Palm Leaf Basket from Mexico
The highlight of this box for me is this pretty ceramic mug from Tunisia. I love my (sometimes twice!) daily coffee, and nothing beats holding a warm drink in your hand on a crisp day. This mug is such a great size, solid, and just so pretty. Thanks to the little descriptions and stories provided in the Artisan Box booklet, I learned this mug is made by a whole team of Tunisians…each person contributing a different part of the design to each mug.
Besides coffee, the mug is also perfect for indulging in a great cup of hot cocoa. Using the recipes included, you can use this incredible cocoa (made by a cocoa-growing co-op in Ghana) to make hot chocolate, cocoa almonds, or any other sweet treat you wish. I make an awesome chocolate-chocolate chip cookie…a batch is surely in my near future!
While our temps have dropped from the brutal heat, it’s still not super cold here yet. This lightweight scarf, made on hand-built looms out of 100% locally-grown cotton in Thailand, is the perfect accessory to add warmth and texture to a lightweight outfit. I have been adding scarves over my t-shirts and lightweight sweaters for weeks now, and I am so excited to add this textured, grey one into my weekly rotation!
Just like every Artisan Box, all of the above goodies were wrapped up and packaged into the vibrant and sweet palm leaf baskets from Mexico. Not only do I love how the baskets unify the entire collection’s color scheme, they sure are the handiest little baskets to keep around. From holding small flowers to serving up simple snacks, both the baskets and the lids have innumerable uses.
I (obviously) couldn’t resist breaking out the s’mores fixings in order to give all my GlobeIn goodies a spin! Such a fun and simple way to spend the evening, cozied up by the fire!
Artisan Boxes are a really neat way to experience unique and special items from around the globe. Even if you don’t have access to fair-trade resources where you live, these products are ethically curated and delivered straight to your door! If you’re interested in trying or gifting the Cozy box, it can still be ordered until October 15th (so hurry!). Don’t fret if you miss this one. Many of the products are/will be available in the shop, and I am certain another wonderful box will be available next month. A single Artisan Box is just $50, but a three-month subscription brings each box price down to $33/box! GlobeIn is offering a coupon to The Homes I Have Made Readers! Just enter THIHM at checkout to save 25% off your first month’s box with the purchase of 3+month subscription!!!!
It’s not every day you guys get to see me on this side of the camera. Model and fashion blogger I am not, but Greg and I had a really great time shooting these pictures for you all! I do hope you’ll check out this latest offering from GlobeIn, and I’d love to hear it if you do! Also, I have some exciting posts and features this week, so be sure to check back here regularly! See you Wednesday!
I did not receive compensation for this blog post; however GlobeIn did provide the “Cozy” Artisan Box for me to use and review. Please remember that I only work with brands and products I fully support and that make sense for my home, my family, and this blog. All opinions are 100% my own!

That mug is so pretty! I would probably use it just for display, I wouldn’t want to break it!
I have friend who uses fudge on her smores instead of chocolate bars. She says the fudge melts better and makes just a lovely melting of flavors in your mouth.
Fudge? Brilliant – would have never thought of that…and then you get all the yummy flavors and textures from the fudge too! We just did a fire pit/s’mores this weekend with those jumbo marshmallows, have you seen them?!? So fun for the kids, but it’s A LOT of marshmallow to get through!
The pics are awesome! Usually can’t wait for the email from your blog on Mon., Wed., & Fri….it arrives @ 10:00 am, so I go directly to your site from browser.
You’re so sweet, Janey! These were fun photos to take, and it just warms my heart to know that I have fans out there waiting for the next post! Thanks for making time for me and my crazy antics in your week!
