Happy Friday, friends! Thank you so much for the love, “hearts,” and support with the launch of the new site design here on The Homes I Have Made! This week marks the end of a long couple months of tweaking and stressing and planning; and while I still have some minor bugs to work out, you better bet I am ready to step away from the computer and get back to some fun projects (both in real life and here on the blog!) Before I do so, though, I thought it would be fun to not only celebrate my 6 years of blogging and the new site design this week, but also thank all of you…my awesome, awesome readers…with a fun giveaway. I’m giving away my craft stash (well…most of it, at least!), and I want you to have it!
Over the last few months, I have done a massive, thorough, meticulous decluttering and purge of my craft room. I will talk about the process (and certainly show you the results!) in the coming months but in general…here’s the backstory. My craft stash had gotten pretty out of control. So much to the point that when I went to start a new project, I was too overwhelmed to look through what I had and instead headed to the store to find new items. Cabinets, totes, boxes, and files had become overrun with supplies for this project and that, as well as countless more items for potential projects that never were. I felt stifled and stressed just being in my office; and I knew that if I was gonna get my (craft) groove back, I had to create some physical and mental space.
Although it was about the worst timing possible (redesigning my website, taking on a huge project I haven’t shared with you guys yet, and the end of summer vacation), I decided it was time to finally address the clutter. I pulled apart my entire craft room and gave each and every item a hard, scrutinizing look. Craft supplies are very hard to get rid of because there is so much potential in every little item. Seriously…with each punch, skein of yarn, and yard of fabric, I could envision 20 different projects to make with each one. But over the years, I’ve learned what kind of projects I do (vinyl, home decor, labeling, small sewing projects) and what projects I don’t (stamping, scrapbooking, knitting, complex quilting), so I tried to hone in very tightly on the items I will honestly, truly use. Keepers were sorted and reorganized. The rest got loaded into 4 very large boxes.
As I thought about how to get rid of all these craft supplies, I kept coming back to one solution: you guys! I don’t partner with lots of big companies and can’t do huge giveaways on a regular basis. But this…this really good, valuable, awesome stuff that I can’t use…I can give to YOU! To say thanks for coming by and for being here. Thanks for commenting. Thanks for pinning and liking and sharing. Thanks for the virtual hugs and kind emails. Thanks for making what I do here worth every stressful moment, penny spent, and late night pecking away at the keyboard. I want you guys to have the supplies and notions I can’t use to make awesome projects and decor for your own homes and families!
So…I took my 4 huge boxes of fabric, punches, yarn, trims, beads, craft books, labeling supplies, office items, stamps, glues, pens and other pretties and loaded each and every item in 20 mystery boxes! This stuff isn’t junk, and these babies are stuffed to the brim…
And I want YOU to have them!
But! I am going to make you work for them a little bit. You see guys…more than anything…my #1 goal has been and STILL is to get my ideas in front of MORE people. I want The Homes I Have Made to grow even more, and I really need your help to do it. So to get a chance at winning one of my super stuffed mystery boxes, I’m going to ask you to follow The Homes I Have Made on Facebook and Instagram, join my mailing list if you haven’t already, like my post here (by clicking the red heart) AND (this is the biggie!) share my site by either pinning, tweeting or posting on Facebook using my social buttons at the bottom of this post. (And if you don’t use social media, I’d love it if you emailed my site link to any friends or family you think might like it!)
