Happy week of Christmas, sweet blog friends! Before I jump into today’s post, I must first take a moment to thank you for all the amazing comments and emails I have received over the last week in response to my post on Monday. You guys literally blew me away with comment after comment of support, understanding and encouragement. I’ve been so taxed and stressed in recent weeks and knew I needed a break, but I just wasn’t sure how it would be received. Yet as one comment came through after another, I felt so cared for and loved. I was no longer ashamed of my lack of Christmas preparations or enthusiasm for holiday decorating and was suddenly at peace with our simple tree and my break in posting. I’m so glad you all liked seeing this “real” side of me, and your generous support right back has truly allowed me to take a guilt-free breather, relax and decompress. Thank you friends…thank you so much!
I have been blissfully not working on many projects lately, but instead have been pouring myself into gift preparations and our usual holiday traditions. Well…I did make my son some Christmas jammies that he has been begging for for weeks, but it was a nice change to craft for the love of it rather than as just another task on my To-Do List. Before this little break however, I cranked out quite a few holiday-themed posts and projects for my free-lance obligations around the web. And besides being contractually obligated to share these (;)), I wanted to make sure you saw some of these projects and tips in time to use them this season! I realize I’m squeezing these all in under the wire, so be sure to visit the links, and pin/bookmark them for next season too! Just a friendly reminder, these posts will never appear in full here on THIHM, so thank you in advanced for taking the time to support the work that makes what I do here possible! Over on the ForRent.com blog, our focus was all about simple, budget-friendly holiday projects and parties, and I think you guys will LOVE these two posts. My first article includes three clever gifts that are easy to pull together no matter how craft you are (or aren’t!). The second is your go-to guide for hosting a Cookie Exchange party. I even designed some free printables for the party, including invitations, cookie ballots, name cards, and more so be sure to hop over and get your set!
On the My Daily Bubble blog, I shared an easy tutorial for making a paper winter wonderland. This project is fun and simple and can be customized in so many ways to suit your style and your decor. If you need a last-minute center piece for you holiday table, check this one out!
On The Good Stuff blog, I have so many great round-up articles live right now! If you need last-minute gift ideas or clever ways to package cookies up for your neighbors, I’ve got you covered. There are so many ideas in each one of these posts, so visit each one and get those pin buttons ready!
I hope you all have a wonderful week preparing for the holidays ahead. I will be spending the week soaking in all the Christmas spirit I can while spending downtime and play time with my boys. I’m also hoping to squeeze in some soul-searching, goal planning and brain-storming for the blog next year! On that note, I’ll be back here next Monday with my end-of-year reader survey. Be sure to stop by because I can’t wait to get all your great feedback! See you then!Posted In Kansas
