How is your Christmas shopping going? Admittedly, I haven’t really started – whomp. Being away for a whole week at Thanksgiving has put me a bit behind, so I am just now starting to hunt down the perfect gifts for everyone on my list. Over the years, I’ve seen other bloggers do a “Favorite Things Post” this time of year and have always enjoyed discovering the items highlighted. I’ve never felt compelled to do one myself in the past….however, this year, I’ve either partnered with or discovered some really awesome creative small businesses that I would really like to take a moment to highlight. I want to note here that all of these shout-outs are completely unsponsored. Some are things you’ve seen before, and others are not. I just love these shops, businesses and products so much…so in this season of giving…I thought I’d send a little blog love their way!
I recently discovered this darling Etsy shop through Instagram, and I am completely obsessed. I was hooked immediately because all the items are designed and sewn by another Marine Spouse who loves fabric as much as I do. I am totally inspired by the business Kim is running and the chic, modern and totally useable/wearable items she is making. I just ordered THIS cowl, and I cannot wait to wear it to our unit holiday party next week!
In full disclosure, this online doll pattern and clothing shop is run by my very talented oldest sister. Family preferences aside, my big sis has an incredible knack for sewing adorable and detailed yet totally doable clothes for American Girl and Disney Animator Dolls. If you love to sew and are looking for easy items to make for your doll-loving child, check these patterns out. If you don’t sew, there are even pre-made items available for purchase too!
This is a link/resource for all my blogger and techy friends! Daniel, the computer genius behind this online shop, is my go-to guy for everything and anything technical on my website. While he didn’t design my site (I wish I had found him sooner because I would have rather used one of his sleek themes!), he has been my saving grace for all the hiccups and roadblocks I encountered while switching from Blogger to WordPress (and there were SO MANY). He has fixed every single problem I have thrown at him with perseverance and kindness, and has walked me through some pretty challenging obstacles in recent weeks. I have never worked with a more knowledgable, reliable, and capable designer, and really couldn’t recommend him more. If you are thinking about starting a blog, I recommend you check out his shop. If you are a blogger and need some technical assistance or tweaks to your site, gift yourself a few hours of his time…it will be money so well spent.
I did a review of the EzPacking Packing Cubes a few months ago, and I still love these little totes so much. I use them for all of our trips, and have even started using them in my gym bag to separate out clean clothes/sweaty clothes/toiletries. If you or someone you know travels a ton, this is such a great gift idea! Check out their products here!
I can’t finish out a favorite things post without quick shoutouts to two of my favorite companies to partner with. Not only do I love working them, but I stand behind their products, and they’d make great gifts! First, is Name Bubbles, the company behind personalized or blank waterproof and laundry-safe labels. These would make great stocking stuffers or gifts for new or seasoned moms. If you’re unfamiliar with these products, you can read more about them in my review here!
Here on the blog, I’ve shared reviews of four different Artisan Boxes from GlobeIn. These are fun and unique gifts for that impossible-to-shop-for person! Either a single box or a monthly subscription would deliver hand-crafted items from all over the world to your recipient’s door. My sources tell me the next box (“Celebrate”) is filled with really awesome goodies!
If you have any favorite Etsy shops or small creative businesses that you love, please share in the comments! Like I said, I am just now getting started and would love some tips of your favorite products and shops too!
I hope your week is off to a great start. Check back here on Wednesday for a fun painting project that has nothing to do with the holidays!
