Another month is coming to a close, so it’s time for my quick check-in with this month’s projects and features around the web! I’ve got quite a few great projects and articles live right now, and I’d love it if you took a quick second to click over and check them all out! Just a reminder, these projects will never appear in full here on THIHM, so I appreciate you supporting the works and sites that make what I do here possible! Click on the photos to be taken straight to the articles!
One of my favorite renter-friendly projects of all time is live on the ForRent.com blog right now! Click on over to see how I made these two, no-sew, hardware free roman shades from a single $10 curtain panel from Target!
These adorable magnetic ribbon bookmarks are the perfect accessory for any bookworm in your life! They come together so fast, and are the perfect little gift for kids in school or your bookclub friends!
Over on The Good Stuff blog I have several great project roundups, as well as some articles to get you in the mood for Fall! Lots of great ideas, tips and tricks at the following links!
Last but certainly not least….has anyone picked up a copy of Lovable Livable Home by John and Sherry from Young House Love!?! If you have, be sure to flip to pages 154-155 to see a two-page feature from yours’ truly! Yep, my first huge #pinchme moment has arrived, and I have to say I’m beyond honored and humbled that pictures from our last home is featured in such an incredible book. I’ve missed reading YHL so much (like many of you I’m sure), and seeing their faces and their home in this book has been so much fun.
For anyone curious how this feature came about, here’s the behind-the-scenes story. Early LAST year they put out a call on their blog for homes of “unusual living circumstances.” On a whim, I emailed John and Sherry our story of being a military family and some shots of our NC home. Months later when I had pretty much given up on any hope of being featured, I literally fell out of my chair when I received a personal email back from Sherry saying they wanted to include us and our home in their book. After lots of emails back and forth, I wasn’t sure which photos or quotes made the book until I saw it with my own eyes when it arrived earlier this week. I’ve had a lot of struggles lately of whether my design work is “worthy.” Seeing this feature literally took my breath away and affirmed why I love making a home so much. I’m so proud of what I accomplished in our last house, and having it featured was just the icing on the cake. Thank you John and Sherry for such an amazing opportunity!
I hope you all have a great weekend. I’ve been in a major creative slump the past week, so I’m hoping a few projects I have planned lift my spirits! See you back here Monday!Posted In Kansas
