It’s Thanksgiving Week – how did that happen?!? I am working on a simple last-minute table centerpeice idea for our family celebration, but it’s not quite done yet… SOO, in the meantime I thought I would take this chance to do one last project reveal for our new living room! Take a look at our new oversized ottoman!
This is a project that’s been on my To-Do List for FOREVER, and I finally got the husband to help me pull it together! We are so thrilled with it! It’s big, it’s chic, and it helps to tie all the new pieces of our living room together!
Like last week with our new media stand, today I am just going to show you lots and lots of photos of this new addition! At the end of this week, I’ll have the full tutorial up for you!
Because the ottoman is “soft,” we wanted to make sure we could still put drinks and snacks down safely. I found this fantastic silver tray at HomeGoods and knew it was exactly what we needed! An oversized jack from Hobby Lobby, a few books, and some coasters round out the tray.
I hunted and hunted for the “perfect” fabric for this ottoman for quite some time. I was convinced I wanted a large-scale blue and white pattern. After weeks of visiting every fabric store I could find, I remembered I had this fabric in our closet. It’s actually a curtain panel; I bought these curtains from IKEA a while back and never found a good spot for them. The tone-on-tone large-scale dot was exactly what the space needed, and the large panels provided just enough fabric for the project! (and we already had them – bonus!)
Even though it’s a neutral fabric, it brings a much needed dose of “glamour” to the space!
Here’s a few shots of how the room is (finally) coming together…
At long last, the striped walls, painted furniture, and patterned fabrics are starting to make some sense!
This project was a quick and easy one, and really affordable too. I’ll have the full tutorial up for you soon – promise 😉
Off to work on a few things for the Thanksgiving table! Have a great Monday 🙂Posted In 2 - DIY & Home Decor, DIY Extra-Large Ottoman, Furniture Makeovers, North Carolina
