I come from a family of crafters: my mother is a craft extrodinaire who has dabbled and dazzled in sewing, stained glass, quilting, painting, knitting and more! My oldest sister is an incredible stamper, scrapbooker, sewer, and general craft guru; and my other older sister is truly the “Hostess with the Mostess” when it comes to party planning. In fact, we ALL love to plan and host parties, complete with themes, decorations, invites, and favors!
The very first party I hosted as a married woman was for some of the wives in my husband’s unit. It was around the holidays, so I planned and threw a Christmas Cookie and Card Coffee! Here was the invite I designed and sent electronically!
Here’s the “Coffee Station” with both regular and decaf coffees, setup with the usual fixings and my matching mugs from the Y100 Yen Store! I made labels to look like gift tags describing what everything was! (Hint: I kept these labels because I know I’ll be able to use them at another party in the future!)
For my table, I used a simple red table cloth and dressed it up with a white/silver/ivory Japanese Obi as a table runner. The six cards we made together were displayed in the center of the table. I kept the table clean and clutter free since we were going to be brining out a lot of craft supplies!
As party favors, I bought these adorable boxes from the Y100 Store and decorated the tops with matching labels that simply said “Enjoy.” Each lady filled up their boxes from the cookie buffet before leaving! Not only was it a fun party favor, but got all the leftover cookies out of my house!
